A phone photo is fine for the fridge, but printed it loses fine detail, dulls the colours and shows every crease. We scan each piece and touch it up by hand. Compare one painting, photographed on a phone and scanned by us.

  1. Pick a package

    Choose a package and tell us what you have, from children's artwork and cards to milestone pieces. You pay upfront, then we book your pickup.

  2. We collect your box

    No need to sort or scan anything yourself. Pop it all in a tub or box and Tamara, who runs Tucked Away, collects it from your porch.

  3. We scan every piece

    Each piece is scanned or photographed on its own, then checked by hand, cropped and colour-enhanced so the little details come through.

  4. Want a book? We lay it out

    If you order a printed book, we arrange your pieces into a clean layout with the title, captions and message you choose. You see a digital proof and approve it before anything prints.

    Your scans arrive in your private online library, and any printed book comes to your door.

I'm Tamara, a mum of three. I had tubs of artwork and awards I couldn't part with, and no real plan for what would happen if they were ever lost.

Yarrabilba & Logan Village: doorstep pickup and drop-off are free. Surrounding suburbs: a flat $15.00 travel fee per order, added automatically at checkout. Good questions

Your originals and privacy

What happens to my box while it's with you?
Tamara collects your box from your porch and keeps everything indoors while it's with us. Your originals come back once your order is complete: delivered with your book, or, for a digital-only order, once your scans are done (within 7 to 14 business days of pickup). In the unlikely event something is damaged or lost while it's in our care, please tell us straight away. The details are in section 2.3 of our Terms.
Do I get the originals back?
It's your choice, and you tell us when you check out. We can return everything to your doorstep (alongside your book, if you ordered one), or securely shred the paper once you're happy with the result. With a printed book, that's when you approve its digital proof. Without one, it's when you've checked your scans in your library and told us you're happy. You can change your mind any time until then. If you choose to shred, your scans become the only copy, so it's worth keeping your library online. A lapsed library is kept for 12 months, then deleted for good.
Is my child's artwork private?
Yes. Your library is private and locked to your family's accounts. If you share something, it's a view-only link that stops working after 7 days (or sooner, if you turn it off), and original files are never shared. We never post your child's artwork on social media unless you said yes when you checked out.

Before pickup

How and when do I pay?
You pay for your package once, upfront, through our secure Stripe checkout. You'll see the payment methods on offer there, including cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay and PayTo. Once your payment clears we'll email you to book your pickup.
What counts as a piece, and how many do I have?
One piece is one scan: a drawing, a certificate, or a card (front and message together). Most families choose "Up to 60 pieces", so start there if you're unsure. If there turn out to be more than your package covers, we'll check with you before scanning the extras, and any you'd like added go on a separate invoice at the extra-piece rates under the package cards.
How do I get my box ready?
  • Pop everything loose in one tub, box or laundry basket.
  • Take artwork and certificates out of frames, plastic sleeves and albums.
  • Leave cards whole.
  • Add a sticky note to any piece with a story.
  • Have the box ready on your porch for pickup.
We'll email you this checklist before pickup too.
Can I include birthday and Christmas cards?
Yes. We scan the front and the handwritten message inside, and one card counts as one piece.
What about 3D craft and clay models?
Bring them along. Bulky pieces can't go through a scanner, so we photograph them flat-lay under studio lighting. They're fragile by nature, so please read section 2.5 of our Terms before you include them.

Your library and books

How long does it take?
Your digital library is ready within 7 to 14 business days of pickup. If you've ordered a printed book, we send you a digital proof to check first. Once you approve it, the book goes to print and arrives within 10 to 14 business days.
How long do I have to download my files?
You have 30 days from the day we send them. To keep your library online after that, choose Library Storage for $1.99/month. If you'd rather not, your library simply locks and we keep your scans safe for 12 months, so you can subscribe any time that year. After 12 months they're deleted for good.
Can I choose the order, or the cover?
By default we sort pieces chronologically. If you have favourites for the cover or the first pages, label them or point them out at pickup and we'll build the layout around them.
Can't I just scan it all myself?
You can! But a phone photo often isn't detailed enough to print well, and the crayon texture, pencil lines and true colours get lost. We scan every piece properly, then straighten and colour-correct each one by hand, so you get scans fit for a printed book and your weekends back. See the difference.
What if my book arrives damaged?
Tell us within 14 days with a photo and we'll reprint it and deliver the new copy free. Because every order is custom-made, change-of-mind cancellations aren't available once we've collected your box. None of this affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
